She’s beauty and grace and I fell in love as soon as I set my eyes on her. Please welcome my newest addition to the family, Falafel!
I’ve been considering getting another pet (kitty or dog) for months since I feel so guilty for leaving my other cat, Howdy, home alone so often! When I moved to my new home, I could tell Howdy was feeling a little depressed and lonely with all the new space. There was no way I could ever fit two kitties in my previous apartment (it was a 1×1, 600 sq. ft., there was no way!), but with the new home, I have endless room now.
I had been lightly watching the Austin Pets Alive! cats for adoption page for the perfect fit. They have an endless amount of cute pets, but I just knew I had to go meet Falafel. I went to her foster’s home to meet her, and sure enough, I knew she was the one!

Compared to Howdy, picking up her was a breeze! She’s such a sweet and adventurous kitty. She meowed for a bit when getting into the car but quickly calmed down and fell asleep!
Transitioning into her new home was so seamless as well. I swear she was home for a day and was ready to explore the entire house and meet everyone! Despite her desire for this, I kept her confined to the guest bath and then the guest bedroom before letting her roam.
Howdy didn’t partake to her well at first since he has been my only baby for so long. He was definitely interested in her, but I think his instincts took over and made him afraid/defensive. It was funny though because Falafel did not have a care in the world and was warmed up to Howdy immediately.
I’m looking forward to all the memories and love Falafel will bring into my home. She’s such a cutie!
Plus, I’d like to give a huge thanks to Austin Pets Alive! for both of my fur babies and for saving so many innocent lives!
xx, Rachelle
