Hi there! I’m Rachelle Rogers, the creator of this lifestyle, fashion, and foodie blog, RachelleAlaine.com
I started this blog since I’m always checking out new places and have a bad habit of shopping, so I wanted to share my experiences with others, in hopes that y’all will be inspired from my posts!
Where are you from?
I’m originally from San Antonio, Texas. I moved to Austin, Texas when I started college at the University of Texas. I adore Austin and I’ve wanted to stay here ever since!
Where are some of your favorite places in Austin?
Too many to list!
For Food: Torchy’s Tacos, The Grove, Sawyer & Co., Terry Black’s BBQ, Home Slice, Ramen Tatsu-ya, Flower Child, Mandola’s, Hopfields, Polvo’s, Tumble 22, Hopdoddy’s, I could go on.
Coffee Shops: Epoch (my all time fave), Mozart’s, Summer Moon, Cosmic Coffee, Red Horn, Houndstooth, Bennu, Lucky Dog, Flightpath
Bars: Hotel Vegas, Nickel City, Hole in the Wall, Roosevelt Room, Deep Eddy Cabaret, Firehouse Lounge, Green Light Social, Dirty Bill’s, 77 Degrees, Buford’s
Shopping: My go-to and guilty pleasure is Nordstrom. Otherwise, I love going to Kendra Scott, Free People, Anthropologie, Brandy Melville, Blue Velvet, Room Service Vintage, Waterloo Records
Fun things to do: Barton Springs (a must in the summer), Zilker Park, South Congress (Soco), Trail on Ladybird Lake, Hiking on Mount Bonnell, catch a movie at Alamo Drafthouse
Places to workout: Soulcycle, Corepower Yoga, Cyclebar, Ride
What did you study in school? What do you do now?
I studied Computer Science and minored in Business at the University of Texas at Austin (Hook Em Horns!). I’m now a full-time Operations Manager and I LOVE it!
What made you buy a house?
The prices for rent and houses in Austin go up A LOT each and every year. When my rent skyrocketed a couple hundred dollars, I was done. I saved up my coins and found a house that I loved but was still within my means. I think it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made since my home has appreciated so much and I’ve gotten my mortgage down to almost the same price I would be paying for rent! Plus I love home improvement projects and living somewhere that’s MINE.
Where do you get your DIY ideas?
I will either see inspo out in public, on TV, or on social media and think of ways that I can copy it on a budget! Most of the time, this just requires improvising materials or finding similar items at a cheaper cost! Pinterest is also super helpful for those who had the same idea and got to it before me!
How tall are you?
I’m a proud 5’5″ (shortest in the family :))
